The incident happened in the town of Maddur (Karnataka state, India) when a man discovered a cobra appeared in his house, so he cautiously chased it out.
The snake then slithered out into the crowded street, but instead of crawling away to escape, the snake suddenly lay … laying eggs in the middle of the road in front of the witness of many passersby.
Locals then had to ask for help from Prassanna Kumar, a snake catcher who lives in the town.
Kumar said he will free the snake in a jungle place far away from human habitation, while the eggs will be cared for and returned to the wild after they hatch.
The female cobra can lay 20 to 40 eggs in a litter, however the cobra in the incident seems to have been unable to lay all eggs due to the presence of many people around.
